ASSOCIATE TAX AUDITOR , EMPLOYMENT DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT

The Employment Development Department (EDD) is one of the largest State departments in California, dedicated to connecting job seekers and employers. They are seeking an Associate Tax Auditor to conduct complex field audits and investigations of businesses suspected of operating in the underground economy, ensuring compliance with California tax regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and review complex field audits/investigations of businesses and organizations suspected of operating in the underground economy
• Uphold the California Unemployment Insurance Code (CUIC) and California tax regulations
• Develop and forward lead referrals to Area Audit Offices or Investigation Division for appropriate action
• Present and communicate information, both verbally and in writing, to internal and external customers, either individually or in a group setting
• Represent the Department at hearings
• Conduct on-site inspections of non-compliant businesses

Skills

• Must obtain list eligibility by taking and passing the examination
• Current version of the State Examination/Employment Application STD Form 678 (when not applying electronically), or the Electronic State Employment Application through your Applicant Account at www.CalCareers.ca.gov
• All Experience and Education relating to the Minimum Qualifications listed on the Classification Specification should be included to demonstrate how you meet the Minimum Qualifications for the position
• Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is Required
