ABOUT THE POST The Research Assistant will play a crucial role in the SecureScale project, which aims to develop an innovative modular pipeline for automated security posture assessment and remediation recommendations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in cyber security and gain valuable experience in a dynamic and collaborative environment. Main Responsibilities:

• Assist with the collection, cleaning, normalisation and preparation of cybersecurity datasets, including logs, configurations, vulnerability data, and related structured or unstructured sources.
• Support dataset curation and annotation activities, including maintaining annotation guidance and reproducible data-handling procedures.

• Contribute to the implementation of prototype pipeline components, including data ingestion, preprocessing, and experimental integration of LLM, RAG, and related analytical workflows.

• Support the development and testing of scripts, code, and evaluation pipelines used for prototype benchmarking and technical validation.

• Assist with closed-lab experimentation, including recording results, organising outputs, and maintaining reproducible research artefacts.

• Help evaluate prototype performance using agreed technical measures and assist in preparing technical summaries, tables, and experimental notes.
