Freelance PR Experts (Media Outreach & Placements)

Pure is a global dating app committed to bringing honesty and fun into the dating world. We believe that dating is more than just swiping – it’s a delightful journey where everyone can discover something special, regardless of their preferences. OverviewWe’re looking for well-connected Freelance PR Experts to support media outreach and secure high-impact press coverage in Tier 1 and 2 publications.
This is a project-based assignment where overall company strategy, messaging, and opportunities are provided in-house. Your focus will be on strategic execution: leveraging your media relationships and outreach expertise to land placements.
Key ResponsibilitiesExecute PR outreach based on pre-defined strategy and story angles for B2B and B2C
Pitch to journalists and editors to secure coverage in Tier 1 and Tier 2 publications (e.g., NYT, WSJ, FT, TechCrunch, Forbes as priority.)
Leverage existing media relationships to maximize placement success
Manage journalist communications and follow-ups
Identify the best contacts and timing for each opportunity
Provide feedback from media to help refine ongoing outreach
Track outreach and report on results
Experience in B2B and B2C placements
Proven track record of securing Tier 1 media placements
Strong, active network of journalists and editors in the UK and/or US
Ability to execute quickly and independently with minimal guidance
Excellent pitching and relationship management skills
Highly responsive and results-oriented
Experience in dating, tech, consumer apps, or lifestyle brands is a plus
Project-based collaboration
Hourly base rate for execution of agreed outreach scope
Performance-based bonuses tied to:
Number of publications secured
Quality of the publication
