Apply VP, Finance Fully Remote • Remote Worker - N/A Apply Job Type Full-time Description

The VP, Finance is accountable for the execution and management of the company’s financial planning, analysis, and operational performance for our fast-growing payments business. In this high-impact role, you will translate the CFO’s financial vision into actionable plans, leading the FP&A function to provide deep visibility. You are responsible for the integrity of budgeting and forecasting, optimizing revenue streams, and developing the financial models necessary to support scalable growth. As a strategic partner to the executive team, you will drive the analytical rigor required to evaluate new market opportunities in a dynamic fintech environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead financial planning & analysis (FP&A), including budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning
  • Partner with business leaders to drive revenue growth, pricing strategies, and cost optimization across payment products
  • Work cross functionally within the company to develop and maintain financial models to evaluate new products, partnerships, and market opportunities
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • PE Reporting: Manage the “cadence” of private equity ownership, including monthly board decks and reporting on key PE metrics like Rule 40 and EBITDA adjustments.
  • Prepare reporting and analysis for senior management, board of directors and bank partners
  • Provide actionable insights on key performance metrics such as transaction volumes, take rates, interchange fees, and unit economics
  • Unit Economic Deep-Dives: Beyond general reporting, driving a “culture of measurement” specifically around gross-to-net revenue bridges and merchant attrition impacts.
  • Support strategic initiatives, including M&A and market expansion
  • Implement and enhance financial systems and planning tools, including Anaplan, NetSuite or other AI tools and technologies
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and financial reporting standards relevant to the payments/fintech industry
  • Exit Readiness: Prepare the finance function for potential liquidity events, such as a secondary sale, by ensuring robust documentation and data room readiness.
  • Build and lead a high-performing finance team
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or CPA a plus)
  • 8–10 years of progressive finance experience, with a heavy emphasis on FP&A or strategic finance within the payments or fintech sectors.
  • Deep technical mastery and understanding of the payments ecosystem (pricing, card network rules, acquiring, processing, gateways, interchange, settlement flows)
  • Proven experience with financial planning tools such as Anaplan, NetSuite, HubSpot or similar technologies
  • Experience operating within a private equity-backed environment, understanding the rigor of leveraged reporting strongly preferred
  • Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills
  • Experience partnering with senior leadership and influencing strategic decisions
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and financial controls
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build and mentor high-performing teams

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in high-growth fintech or payments environment
  • Familiarity with data management and analytics tools
  • Experience with automation and finance transformation initiatives
  • Strong business acumen, curiosity and problem-solving skills with ability to translate data into strategic insights and actions

What Success Looks Like

  • Deliver accurate, insight-driven financial plans that support business growth
  • Improve forecasting accuracy and financial visibility
  • Drive measurable improvements in margins and operational efficiency
  • Establish scalable financial processes and systems
