Sophomore Consulting Exploratory Program: A Day in the BHive

Join us for a virtual workshop on May 8, 2026

The Brattle Group’s Sophomore Consulting Exploratory Program is a professional development experience for undergraduates completing their second year. This unique experience is designed to help you learn more about how you could apply the economic, finance, policy, computer science, and/or engineering concepts from the classroom to a career path in economic consulting.

At Brattle, we often refer to our close-knit community of smart, collaborative employees as the BHive. A Day in the BHive will demystify the industry of economic consulting and clarify how it is different from other types of consulting. Participants will learn about a day in the life of an economic consultant, as well as learn academic tips and interview techniques from consulting staff and the Talent Acquisition team. If selected, this program can be highlighted on your resume to let future employers know you are driven and eager to apply your skills in a professional setting.

How do I know if this program is right for me?

All you need is an interest in analytical areas like math, statistics, business, engineering, public policy, finance, economics or law. Economic consulting intersects with many industries, so you may be majoring in one of these areas, or still deciding. This workshop features a panel session with consulting teammates, including Analysts, who can help recommend courses or areas of study to shape your academic path. We are not just looking for students who do well on coursework, but for those who consistently want to learn more, and who approach problems with creativity.

Program Agenda

During A Day in the (B)Hive, you’ll get to hear directly from executive leadership at Brattle, Analysts who’ve recently joined the firm, senior members of our consulting teams, and the Talent Acquisition team.

Sessions include:

  • Q&A Panel: What is Economic Consulting?
    • Learn about project work and the day-to-day life of an Analyst
    • Hear how our consultants have applied their college coursework to the real world (Spoiler alert: It’s not all about the economics courses!)
  • Q&A Panel: Career path planning & coursework recommendations
    • Learn about courses and areas of study that will help you decide if this is a career path that interests you and how to best prepare for the Analyst role after graduation
  • What is Economic Consulting: The Anatomy of a Case
    • Who are our clients and what do we do for them? What would my role on the team look like and whom would I work with on a daily basis?
  • Why Choose Brattle
  • Resume 101
    • Participants will also be eligible for additional 1:1 resume assistance through July 31 2026.
