Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Veteran Placement Specialist to join our team as an independent contractor. This role is critical in identifying, engaging, and placing veterans into career opportunities that match their skills and experience with our clients' needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong network within the veteran community and a keen understanding of various industries' job requirements.

Responsibilities:

1. Veteran Identification and Outreach:

  • Proactively identify and engage with veterans seeking new career opportunities through the MTR.vet platform and other channels.

  • Utilize various channels, including social media, email, telephone, veteran organizations, job fairs, and networking events, to source qualified candidates.

  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of veteran candidates with diverse skills and experiences.

2. Candidate Assessment and Matching:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of candidates' skills, experiences, and career aspirations using tools and resources from MTR.vet.

  • Match veterans' profiles with the specific requirements and needs of our clients.

  • Present qualified candidates to clients, highlighting their strengths and suitability for the roles.

3. Relationship Building:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with veterans, providing guidance and support throughout the job search process.

  • Establish and nurture relationships with veteran organizations, military transition programs, and other relevant networks.

  • Collaborate closely with clients to understand their hiring needs and preferences.

4. Job Placement & Follow Up

  • Facilitate the interview and hiring process between veterans and clients.

  • Provide ongoing support to both candidates and clients to ensure successful placements.

  • Follow up with placed candidates to ensure a smooth transition and address any post-placement concerns.

Performance Metrics:

  • Number of qualified veterans identified and engaged.

  • Number of veterans successfully matched and placed with clients.

  • Client satisfaction with candidate quality and fit.

  • Retention rate of placed veterans within client organizations.

  • Timeliness and efficiency in the placement process.

Requirements

  • Strong network and relationships within the veteran community.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to understand and articulate various job requirements and match them with veteran candidates' skills
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as an independent contractor
  • Passion for supporting veterans and commitment to their career success.
  • Must be willing to engage in outbound recruiting efforts via phone, email, LinkedIn and other platforms​
