Job Opportunity: Senior Application Developer (CA Plex / SQL / Legacy Systems) Client: South Carolina Court Administration (SCCOURTS) Location: 100% Remote Duration: 12 Months + (High possibility of extension) Employment Type: Contract / Consultant Job ID: 10331 Position Overview The South Carolina Court Administration is seeking a highly skilled Senior Application Developer to lead the maintenance, enhancement, and operational stability of two mission-critical platforms: the Case Management System (CMS) and the Juror Management System (JMS). Built on a CA Plex architecture, these systems are the backbone of the state's judicial operations. As the agency moves toward long-term modernization, this role is vital in ensuring current platforms remain secure, reliable, and high-performing. You will work on complex integrations, data quality improvements, and functional extensions to meet evolving business needs. Core Responsibilities

• System Maintenance: Support and extend existing functionality within CA Plex-based Case and Juror Management systems.
• Legacy Stability: Ensure the continuity of mission-critical court operations by maintaining the stability and responsiveness of the current platform.
• Technical Troubleshooting: Perform high-level debugging and root-cause analysis for complex transactional system issues.
• Database Management: Utilize SQL Server and T-SQL to manage data quality, optimize performance, and support reporting.
• Integration Support: Maintain and improve integrations with internal and external government systems and APIs.
• Modernization Support: Work in parallel with modernization teams to ensure a seamless bridge between the legacy environment and future architecture.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Application Development: 10+ years of professional experience in full-lifecycle application development.
• Debugging Expertise: 10+ years of experience in deep-dive debugging and troubleshooting complex systems.
• CA Plex / 4GL: 7+ years of experience working with CA Plex or similar model-driven/4GL environments.
• SQL Server: 7+ years of experience with SQL Server and advanced T-SQL.
• Enterprise Systems: 7+ years of experience maintaining large-scale legacy or enterprise-level environments.

Preferred Skills

• Domain Expertise: Experience within South Carolina judicial systems or other government/court environments.
• Generated Languages: Proficiency in C++, Java, or .NET as generated from the Plex environment.
• System Architecture: Experience with batch processing, transactional systems, and data warehousing.
• API & Integration: Proven track record with API integrations.
• Court Operations Knowledge: Familiarity with the case lifecycle (filed, pending, disposed) and performance metrics (clearance rates, backlog).

Work Environment

• 100% Remote: This position is fully remote; however, the candidate must be available to work during standard Eastern Time (EST) business hours.
• Stability: This is a long-term engagement focused on the reliability of state-wide essential services.
