Job Summary: The Senior Accounting Consultant on the Expense Accounting team is a key member of the team and is responsible for enterprise-wide expense accounting, governance, and reporting. This position is a permanent remote home-based worker. Your home office does not need to be near an Allstate office, but it does need to be in the United States. This position is eligible for a monthly connectivity reimbursement to offset the costs of internet and phone expenses. Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare expense reporting and analysis on GAAP and statutory basis for internal and external Reporting.
• Perform month end close activities including accruals, pension, bad debt valuation, and other processes as assigned.
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Identify and implement process improvements to create efficiencies.
• Build or enhance reporting packages and/or templates to create efficiencies.
• Manage workload effectively and efficiently by prioritizing responsibilities.
• Provide information to internal and external stakeholders.
• Performs ad hoc analysis and supports projects as requested.
• Plan, implement, and manage small-medium scale projects.

Education and Experience:

• 4-year bachelor's degree in accounting
• 4 or more years of related accounting or finance experience
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred

Functional Skills:

• Strong Use Accounting principles and understands the concepts, rules, and terminology common to the science of accounting.
• Advanced knowledge and the ability to use the concepts, techniques, and issues involved in planning projects and processes.
• Intermediate understanding of the Insurance Industry.
