Job Summary:
The Senior Accounting Consultant on the Expense Accounting team is a key member of the team and is responsible for enterprise-wide expense accounting, governance, and reporting.
This position is a permanent remote home-based worker. Your home office does not need to be near an Allstate office, but it does need to be in the United States. This position is eligible for a monthly connectivity reimbursement to offset the costs of internet and phone expenses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare expense reporting and analysis on GAAP and statutory basis for internal and external Reporting.
- Perform month end close activities including accruals, pension, bad debt valuation, and other processes as assigned.
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Identify and implement process improvements to create efficiencies.
- Build or enhance reporting packages and/or templates to create efficiencies.
- Manage workload effectively and efficiently by prioritizing responsibilities.
- Provide information to internal and external stakeholders.
- Performs ad hoc analysis and supports projects as requested.
- Plan, implement, and manage small-medium scale projects.
- 4-year bachelor's degree in accounting
- 4 or more years of related accounting or finance experience
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred
- Strong Use Accounting principles and understands the concepts, rules, and terminology common to the science of accounting.
- Advanced knowledge and the ability to use the concepts, techniques, and issues involved in planning projects and processes.
- Intermediate understanding of the Insurance Industry.
