Director, Market Research Operations (Remote - EST)

Work from home Full-time role Hiring

IQVIA’s Primary Intelligence team is seeking an experienced primary market research professional to lead our Field Operations function. In this role, you will oversee the delivery of quantitative and qualitative healthcare studies, ensuring high‑quality fieldwork execution, strong vendor management, and operational excellence across a large and diverse portfolio of custom research engagements. You will lead a team responsible for feasibility assessment, recruitment strategy, fielding oversight, vendor sourcing, and project monitoring. The ideal candidate brings deep healthcare research experience, strong team leadership, and the ability to drive scalable processes in a fast‑growing, client‑focused environment. If you have a proven track record of managing primary market research teams, developing innovative solutions for difficult‑to‑recruit studies, implementing effective and repeatable operational processes, and demonstrating exceptional communication and leadership skills, this role offers an opportunity to lead a high‑impact function, partner closely with senior business leaders, and influence how IQVIA delivers primary research that integrates our unique secondary data assets — a key differentiator in the market. Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop a team of research professionals (onshore and offshore) responsible for leading and executing quantitative and qualitative healthcare market research studies.
  • Oversee feasibility assessments for complex studies, determining panel availability, identifying vendor needs, and ensuring accurate scoping, pricing, and timelines.
  • Develop and implement innovative recruitment strategies for difficult‑to‑source physician and HCP audiences to ensure high‑quality data collection.
  • Partner with client‑facing Principals and other internal stakeholders by providing subject‑matter expertise during business development, feasibility estimation, creative solutioning, and risk assessment.
  • Collaborate closely with the panel management team to optimize panel utilization and develop recommendations that improve study recruitment and data delivery outcomes.
  • Source, manage, and evaluate external vendors; ensure contracts, compliance requirements, SLAs, and quality standards are met; lead the team’s adoption and use of Globality for vendor workflows.
  • Provide oversight on all active fielding, monitoring project progress, resolving escalations, and ensuring accurate and timely updates across project tracking systems.
  • Mentor and coach junior and mid‑level researchers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • Conduct ongoing analysis and evaluation of operational processes with the goal of increasing efficiency, speed, data quality, and scalability.
  • Maintain strong working partnerships with cross‑functional teams including Commercial, Strategy Consulting, Survey Programming, Panel Management, and Analytics.
  • Ensure all operations follow corporate standards, compliance requirements, and best practices in primary market research.
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging methodologies, and new technologies within healthcare primary research and field operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s preferred.
  • 7–10+ years of progressive experience in primary market research, with strong exposure to healthcare.
  • Demonstrated success leading research teams and delivering complex primary research studies.
  • Strong expertise in feasibility, sampling, recruitment strategy, and vendor management.
  • Ability to manage large project portfolios, prioritize effectively, and solve problems proactively.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non‑technical teams.
  • Experience with online survey platforms (e.g., Forsta, Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey); knowledge of Conformit or similar tools a plus.
  • Detail‑oriented, organized, and committed to quality and accuracy.
