Join our team working on one of our most prestigious programs delivering Cloud modernization and operations to the Department of the Air Force on the Cloud One Architecture and Common Shared Services (ACSS) contract. Leidos was awarded the U.S. Air Force Cloud One Architecture and Common Shared Services contract and currently has an opening for a Google Cloud Platform GCP Architecture and Engineering Lead. This position focuses on Google Cloud Engineering and Support and will coordinate across multiple areas as the program supports AWS, Azure, Google, and Oracle clouds. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience to modernize a leading, global-scale multi-cloud environment in support of a critical mission, supporting USAF system resiliency, security, and cost effectiveness. Location: These positions will be hybrid remote. Candidates will be required to work onsite as needed. Candidates need to be located near Hanscom AFB (Boston, MA) or work in Huntsville, AL. Primary Responsibilities: We are seeking highly capable Cloud Architects with expertise in multiple cloud platforms. A successful individual will be responsible for designing scalable cloud-native solutions, leading development efforts, and ensuring best practices across architecture, development, deployment, and security. This is a combination management and hands-on technical role that requires rolling up your sleeves to architect, code, debug, and mentor. Design and architect scalable, resilient, and secure cloud solutions across Google Cloud infrastructure and others. Develop cloud strategy and roadmaps aligned with organization objectives and technical requirements. Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and assess their potential impact on organizational goals. Drive adoption of DevOps practices, infrastructure as code, and automation frameworks. Optimize application performance and reliability in cloud environments. Design secure cloud architectures implementing zero-trust principles and defense-in-depth strategies. Ensure compliance with industry standards (SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, etc.) and regulatory requirements. Implement / integrate with identity and access management solutions and security monitoring frameworks. Facilitate customer onboarding and implement a consistent pathway to cloud adoption. Manage and optimize Google cloud environments, networking, VPNs, IaaS, PaaS, and SQL systems. Implement and maintain tools and services such as Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Jira, Confluence, Artifactory, and Guacamole to support DevSecOps practices. Containerize applications to enhance scalability and deployment efficiency. Support the design and development of Shared Services. Configure and troubleshoot cloud, virtual, and physical hardware and software systems. Establish and maintain SQL and NoSQL databases, ensuring their performance and reliability. Prepare detailed technical documentation to support development and operational processes. Conduct security assessments and remediate vulnerabilities in cloud environments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, operations, security, and product management. Create reference architectures, design patterns, and technical standards for cloud implementations. Technical Leadership: Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Present architectural designs and recommendations to executive leadership. Mentor, guide and supervise development teams of up to 5 engineers and technical specialists on cloud-native application design and deployment. Lead architectural reviews and provide guidance on complex technical decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 8+ years or more of experience; Master’s and 6+ years or more of experience, additional years of experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
  • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance.
  • US citizenship required.
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent (IAT-2).
  • Excellent customer service skills, with experience working in a customer-facing position.
  • Experience administering Windows and Linux Servers, and related services.
  • Strong understanding Active Directory, Azure AD, SAML and the standards, procedures, and processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Experience with Ansible, Google console, Elastic, , Jira, Confluence, Git, and multiple GCP cloud Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings.
  • Experience onboarding customer log-data from cloud platforms to on-premises or cloud-based analysis environments such as Elastic or Splunk.

Nice-to-haves
