As a Data Entry Operator 2, you'll be working closely with our development team to ensure that our applications are accurate, efficient, and user-friendly.
Key Responsibilities
As a Data Entry Operator 2, you'll be responsible for:
- Operating data entry or data verification equipment to check for accuracy and sufficiency of data and making corrections or adjustments as needed
- Operating keyboard on data entry equipment (e.g., key to disk, tape or card, video display terminal), operating electric typewriter
- Performing clerical tasks related to data processing (e.g., proofreads, files, distributes and mails output, codes and totals data, maintains entry logs, sorts and files)
- Collaborating with the development team to ensure that our applications are accurate and efficient
- Providing exceptional customer service and support to our clients
Major Worker Characteristics
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; office practices and procedures
- Skill in operation of data entry equipment, operation of peripheral machines (e.g., scanner, printer) data verification equipment
- Ability to proofread material, recognize errors and make corrections; read, copy, and record figures; check pairs of items that are similar or dissimilar; move limbs, fingers easily to perform manual functions repeatedly
Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment
To be considered for this role, you'll need:
- Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, and in reading, writing, and speaking common English vocabulary
- 6 months training or 6 months experience in the use of data entry equipment in Ohio
- Department of Job and Family Services, Wage Record Department, in addition to preceding option, applicant must have minimum of 10,000 net key strokes per hour on an alpha-numeric keyboard
- Or 4 mos. experience as Data Entry Operator 1, 12331; in Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, Wage Record Department, in addition to preceding option, applicant must have minimum of 10,000 net key strokes per hour on an alpha-numeric keyboard
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above
Training and Development Required to Remain in the Classification After Employment
No training or development is required to remain in this classification after employment.
Unusual Working Conditions
As a Data Entry Operator 2, you may be required to work evening or night shifts, and you'll be exposed to constant, low-level noise while operating data entry equipment for long periods of time.
Expected Salary
The expected salary for this role is $12 - $14 per hour.
