The Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis/Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis seeks a Senior Director of Public Relations & Marketing to join our talented team! About the role The Senior Director of Public Relations & Marketing oversees the PR & Marketing functions for Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis (50%) and Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis (50%.) This remote position requires the ability to travel to either property as needed, but on a monthly basis at minimum. Candidates must be based in the US Midwest. Basic Purpose: To generate awareness for assigned properties through all media outlets; including a strong focus on local and national awareness; and develop a long term strategic plan and implement all marketing and advertising initiatives as well as the development and execution of the annual public relations plan. Focus on the digital footprint, messaging, and social media efforts ensuring all are aligned around a single vision. What you will do For Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis and Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis, the Senior Director of Public Relations & Marketing will

  • Develop and implement a yearly comprehensive MarComm strategy aligned with the desired vision of assigned hotels
  • Provide guidance to assigned properties for annual PR, Digital Marketing and Social Media planning and goal setting
  • Conduct in person meetings with property teams at least 4 times per year, with regular virtual follow-up meetings to evaluate PR performance, content development, growth in Social Media Audience Size and Engagement and Content Quality
  • Provide guidance and ideas for assigned properties to achieve property goals in PR Impact, Social Media audience size and engagement, and Content Quality. Property goals will serve as KPIs for Senior Director of PR and Marketing
  • Establish and create PR/Communication synergies across assigned properties
  • Identify and drive best practices across assigned hotels
  • Engage agency support as needed with clear plan on deliverables
  • Align with Marketing team to optimize hotel performance to meet annual business objectives and yearly plan for assigned hotels
  • Assess and drive competitive and differentiating PR plans, in place at hotel
  • Implement and monitor for compliance with global brand standards and initiatives
  • Ensure PR and social initiatives meet performance targets
  • Collaborate with Area MarComm and PR on digital (content and social) strategies for assigned properties
  • Participate in ongoing brand initiatives and projects as identified by Area Hotel Marketing and Area Director PR and Marketing
  • Identify and secure strategic partnerships and collaborations to enhance the guest experience and align with Hotel Vision and long-term strategic positioning
  • Create innovative publicity programs that will increase awareness and positive perception of the hotel, its restaurants, spa, services, and personnel. Programs should address specific needs as outlined in the marketing plan and capitalize on unexpected opportunities as they arise
  • Maximize opportunities for publicity in all media through careful research and targeted editorial pitch plan, focused on key feeder markets for both the group and leisure segments. Maintain professional relationships with media to support achieving the goals outlined in the PR plan, including the distribution of targeted media releases, media kits, pitches, and other PR related material
  • Lead the development and execution of an annual PR plan as an integral part of hotel marketing plan, based on guidelines given in the annual plan instructions, including a PR roadmap, segment strategies, and key PR initiatives
  • Utilize all available electronic marketing tools to increase exposure to all available outlets, including oversight of eNewsletter; oversight of E-Mail broadcasts; Customized Mini-Sites; and all related electronic opportunities. Maintain current image library and video footage to maximize media coverage
  • Oversee updates and maintain property website within the corporate standard.
  • Comply with Four Seasons brand standards for all marketing, PR and social media
  • Comply with Four Seasons Category One and Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact
  • Lead and mentor the on-property Digital Marketing Managers What you bring
  • A minimum of five years of experience in Public Relations capacity with Four Seasons or other related organization; experience in a multi-property role or Marketing/PR agency leadership role
  • A university degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing or equivalent experience
  • Advanced media relations experience
  • Knowledge of production methods in graphic arts and collateral
  • Knowledge of and ability to operate computer equipment required
  • Basic knowledge of journalism, marketing practices, and broadcast production methods
  • This highly-collaborative position requires exceptional communication and relationship-building skills. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter who is motivated and proactive in identifying gaps and opportunities, and be able to lead and/or influence other internal and external team members Work Environment and Travel Requirements:
  • This position is remotely based in US Midwest with property travel requirements
