Security Software Engineer - Endpoint Security

Our client is seeking an experienced software developer to drive the development and enhancement of their cloud security monitoring platform. This role involves building robust integrations with various cloud providers, developing detection and compliance rules, and contributing to scalable security solutions that safeguard multi-cloud environments. The successful developer will play a critical part in shaping the core technology that helps organisations maintain secure and compliant cloud infrastructures, all within a dynamic and innovative start-up environment. Technical Must Have Skills:

  • Excellence in Go development - At least 3 years of hands-on software development experience with Go, focusing on backend API development, integrations, or networking, with a strong understanding of concurrency and scalable architecture. C++ would also be acceptable.
  • Experience with Windows, MacOS, and Linux platforms - Deep familiarity with managing and scripting across these operating systems, including deployment and endpoint management scenarios.
  • Knowledge of Mobile Device Management (MDM) & UEM - Understanding of enterprise mobility solutions like Microsoft Intune, Workspace ONE, or Jamf, and how they secure and manage endpoints in diverse environments.
  • API Integration expertise - Proven ability to connect with RESTful APIs, parse complex data sources, and implement solutions based on API documentation, especially for cloud provider services and security tools.
  • Strong SQL skills - Experience designing, querying, and optimizing relational databases for storing and analysing security data and configurations effectively.

Technical Nice to Have Skills:

  • JavaScript experience - Support in developing user interfaces and dashboards that visualize security findings and alerts for stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with cloud security tools - Knowledge of solutions like Microsoft Intune, Workspace ONE, AirWatch, Kandji, Mosyle, SOTI MobiControl, and others, enhancing integration capabilities.
  • Understanding of cloud security frameworks - Awareness of compliance standards such as CIS, SOC2, or GDPR to inform policy development.
  • Experience with cloud provider APIs - Practical familiarity with AWS, GCP, and Azure APIs for resource discovery, configuration management, and risk detection.
  • Security testing and debugging skills - Experience with tools and methods to troubleshoot integrations and ensure security controls are effectively enforced.

Additional Functional Requirements:

  • Analytical mindset - Ability to analyse complex cloud configurations and develop intelligent detection logic for misconfigurations and vulnerabilities.
  • Effective communication - Capable of documenting technical details clearly and collaborating cross-functionally with product and security teams.
  • Adaptability - Comfort working in a fast-paced start-up with evolving technology stacks and priorities.
  • Proactive problem solver - Eager to identify gaps, propose innovative solutions, and drive improvements independently.
  • Team collaboration - Experience working remotely within agile teams, sharing knowledge, and contributing to collective success.

Educational and Certification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field - Preferred, demonstrating solid foundational knowledge in software development and security concepts.
  • Security certifications (bonus) - Certifications such as CISSP, CISA, or cloud security specializations are advantageous but not mandatory.
