At QuidelOrtho, data isn’t just numbers—it’s insight, innovation, and impact. We’re looking for a Senior Global Azure Data Engineer who’s passionate about transforming raw data into powerful solutions that drive smarter decisions and meaningful outcomes.

You’ll join cross-functional, high-performing teams to deliver modern, scalable data platforms—from dynamic short-term sprints to large, multi-year transformation programs.

Your mission?

Provision data from on-premise and external sources into our cutting-edge Lakehouse architecture, apply business logic, and empower analytical users with trusted, high-quality data.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and build robust, scalable data pipelines in Azure

  • Provision and integrate structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data

  • Develop solutions using Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks

  • Implement distributed data processing (batch & streaming)

  • Apply Lakehouse / Medallion architecture principles

  • Optimize, partition, and performance-tune large datasets

  • Migrate legacy on-prem databases to modern cloud platforms

  • Collaborate in Agile/Scrum teams to deliver high-impact solutions

  • Continuously learn, innovate, and push boundaries

What Makes You a Great Fit:

We’re looking for a blend of technical expertise and mindset. You don’t need everything—but strong Databricks and Spark experience is highly valued.

Core Experience

  • 3+ years with cloud platforms (Azure preferred, AWS welcome)

  • Hands-on with:

    • Azure Data Factory (ADF)

    • Azure Databricks (Notebooks, Workflows, Delta Live, Unity Catalog)

  • Experience with:

    • Delta Lake or Apache Iceberg

    • MS SQL Server, Azure SQL, or similar RDBMS

    • Database design & data modeling

    • Distributed big data processing (batch & streaming)

    • Source control (Azure DevOps or Git)

    • Database migration from legacy systems to cloud

Nice to Have:

  • Azure Synapse (Dedicated / Serverless / Spark Pools)

  • ADLS Gen2 or AWS S3

  • Azure Functions

  • Strong SQL, Hive, Spark, Python, Polybase

  • Azure security principles (Key Vault, access controls, networking)
