[Remote] Manager, Supply Chain Operations Systems – Remote

The Supply Chain Operations Systems Manager will oversee the maintenance, support, design, and implementation of Warehouse Management Systems, ensuring operational integrity and supporting the training of colleagues to effectively serve customers.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as Subject Matter Expert and primary technical support for Supply Chain Systems (WMS, TMS, LMS)
  • Ensures operational system integrity through setup, configuration, code promotion, and control processes
  • Monitors system performance, performs maintenance and backups as needed
  • Serves as project lead for systems implementations and leads User Acceptance Testing
  • Interfaces with Operations staff to review procedures and maximize efficiencies
  • Coordinates with Information Technology to resolve upstream/downstream systems issues
  • Provides regular communication to Operations and internal departments on operational matters
  • Establishes root cause analysis and manages technical resolution pipeline
  • Designs and develops tools for analyzing operational activities
  • Conducts feasibility analysis on processes and equipment
  • Calculates cost/benefit and business impact and proposes solutions
  • Investigates and recommends new technologies and information systems
  • Identifies areas for improving service levels, reducing costs, and enhancing operations
  • Develops standardized and ad hoc reporting for site, management and customers
  • Serves as site expert on WMS logic and functionality
  • Trains Operations team on using WMS and related systems
  • Ensures compliance with Standard Operating Procedures

Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in: Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Computer Science or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is preferred
  • 6 years with exceptional Tier-1 Warehouse Management Systems experience (High Jump preferred)
  • 2-4 years' experience working with ERP technical functionality (Microsoft Dynamics Preferred)
  • Excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and project management skills
  • Experience in managing application development lifecycle (specification, testing, implementation)
  • Strong technical knowledge of databases and database architecture. Ability to read/write SQL and working knowledge of reporting tools and web development languages
  • Proficient in business systems analysis, process improvement methodologies, and change management protocols
  • Subject matter expert for all Supply Chain Systems functionality within our Distribution Network
  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, project management, analytical, prioritization skills
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to mentor and develop individuals and teams. Able to engage and lead team discussions and meetings. Understands team dynamics and works well within a team structure. Collaborative management style and strategic team player. Delegates responsibilities effectively. Recognizes and acknowledges the value others bring to the organization
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and professional interactive skills. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, management and inter-department staff. Capable of working with others in a proactive and constructive manner
  • Strong analytical and technology skills in using productivity, performance and other related data. In particular, proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Peoplesoft) and advanced Excel skills are required
  • A mastery of organizational and project management skills, including the ability to plan, prioritize and execute multiple initiatives/deadlines autonomously and shift priorities, as necessary. Able to manage and present large, complex projects
  • Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Gathers and analyzes information skillfully. Develops alternative solutions
  • Judgment - Displays willingness to make decisions. Exhibits sound and accurate judgment. Makes timely decisions

  • Strong understanding of Supply Chain and Distribution Operations, Procurement, and Transportation. Understanding of Sysco's key business metrics and systems – preferred
  • Systems implementation and systems project management experience preferred
