INFOADVISOR™ | Independent Pro – Threat & Vulnerability Risk Management (TVRM)
About the position The INFOADVISOR™ is an independent consultant role similar to how financial advisors, attorneys, and real estate agents operate under a professional network. You will directly support our clients, assessing their information governance and cybersecurity needs, delivering tailored recommendations, and providing ongoing strategic guidance. This version of the INFOADVISOR™ role is specifically focused on strengthening InfoGov.com’s Threat & Vulnerability Risk Management practice. You will analyze risks, interpret vulnerability data, monitor emerging threats, and help clients maintain a secure and compliant operational environment. At the same time, you will contribute to refining our TVRM methodology and enhancing the client experience.
Responsibilities
- Client Advisory & Relationship Management:
Serve as a trusted advisor, building long-term relationships with client organizations.
- Facilitate recurring advisory sessions, explain findings, and help clients prioritize risk and remediation efforts.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Threat & Vulnerability Risk Management (TVRM)
Perform ongoing threat and vulnerability assessments using InfoGov.com’s INFODetect platform.
- Analyze vulnerability data (including CVEs, CVSS scoring, exploitability, and impact) to determine risk levels and remediation urgency.
- Track and report on emerging threats, security advisories, and cyber risk trends.
- Deliver detailed TVRM reports that translate technical issues into clear, actionable business recommendations.
- Guide clients in developing remediation plans, mitigation strategies, and governance enhancements.
- Information Governance Needs Assessment
Conduct comprehensive information governance assessments to identify data risks, privacy considerations, and compliance gaps.
- Evaluate clients using InfoGov.com’s structured methodologies and best practices.
- Provide tailored recommendations around data governance, lifecycle management, and regulatory compliance.
- Solution Design & Implementation Support
Create customized governance, privacy, and cybersecurity strategies aligned to each client’s environment.
- Collaborate with InfoGov.com experts on specialized matters involving AI, cloud security, blockchain, sensitive data, and emerging technologies.
- Assist clients in developing policies, procedures, and documentation for improved governance and security posture.
- Education & Client Enablement
Educate clients on information governance, cybersecurity hygiene, data protection, and compliance obligations.
- Promote proactive risk management practices and continuous improvement.
- Support the development of webinars, workshops, and knowledge resources.
- Practice & Platform Development
Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of InfoGov.com’s TVRM methodologies, tools, templates, and reporting frameworks.
- Provide product feedback to support the evolution of INFODetect and INFOCLAVE® Secure Enclave platforms.
- Mentor new INFOADVISORs and support practice expansion initiatives.
Requirements
- Professional experience in information governance, cybersecurity, data privacy, risk management, or related fields.
- Ability to evaluate vulnerabilities, assess risk severity, and recommend effective mitigation strategies.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Experience conducting assessments, delivering advisory engagements, or supporting compliance initiatives.
- High ethical standards, integrity, and commitment to confidentiality and data protection.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the discipline to manage your own client portfolio.
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CMMC, SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR, and other regulatory standards.
- Experience using vulnerability scanning tools, SIEM systems, or threat intelligence platforms.
- Background in records management, data lifecycle management, or enterprise information governance.
- Prior experience in consulting or client-facing advisory roles.
