Work Shift Third (Nights) Sentara Heart Hospital located on the Campus of Sentara Norfolk General in Norfolk, Virginia is hiring a Travel Registered Nurse for the Advanced Heart Failure Unit! Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Advanced Heart Failure Unit Sentara Heart Hospital - Norfolk, VA ~$Temporary Full Time ~NIGHT Shift ~ Seeking Travel RNs with the following: Demonstrated experience in cardiac care, including working with patients in telemetry, step-down, or critical care settings. Solid foundational knowledge of appropriate nursing interventions for various cardiac conditions, including emergency response protocols and medication administration. Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or diploma in the Nursing Field required Must have 2 or more years of recent acute care Cardiac hospital RN experience Advanced Heart Failure Unit (AHFU) Overview: The AHFU is a 24-bed high-acuity cardiac care unit specializing in the treatment of patients with: Pre- and post-heart transplant care While Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) and transplant experience are not required, opportunities exist for nurses who are eager to expand their cardiac skill set in these areas. Clinical Environment & Equipment Nurses work with advanced bedside monitoring systems and other high-tech equipment. For candidates with previous ICU experience , there are opportunities to titrate intravenous medications based on hemodynamic monitoring . The unit thrives on 24/7 consistent communication and intricate interdisciplinary teamwork . Nurses typically care for 3-4 patients , depending on acuity levels .
