Amazon is a leading technology company seeking an Associate Systems Dev Engineer for their Central RME Amazon Technologies Portfolio Team. This role involves developing and supporting software systems to enhance the reliability and operations of Amazon's robotics fleet, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive improvements in performance and availability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop cloud-based data tools, analytics, and reporting systems to optimize robotics operations
  • Create and deploy proof-of-concept and minimum viable products for field testing
  • Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and AWS CDK
  • Implement proactive issue detection, monitoring, and reporting systems
  • Leverage automation, ML, and AI to drive insights and scale team efficiency
  • Document system designs, runbooks, and internal processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve robotics maintenance and reliability
  • Analyze large-scale data from various sources to identify improvement opportunities
  • Participate in failure analysis and incident review processes
  • Engage customers to understand and document business requirements
  • Drive problems to root cause and manage implementation programs for corrective actions
  • Recommend alternative technical approaches and direct cross-functional efforts to meet timelines

Skills

  • Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting infrastructure
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related discipline
  • Experience with automating and simplifying team development, test, and operations processes
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
  • Experience leveraging generative AI in software development
  • Familiarity with AWS services, SDK, and CDK
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Knowledge of design patterns, reliability, and scaling techniques
  • Proficiency in SQL and data analysis using Python or R
  • Experience with machine learning and AI technologies
  • Background in robotics, automation, or large-scale distributed systems
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Understanding of industrial automation, including robotics system components/controls, HMI components, and motion control
  • Experience with databases, data pipelines, and integration of disparate data platforms/systems
