Experienced Data Entry Specialist – Database Management and Administrative Support

In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of our database by accurately typing information from paper documents into our computer systems.

About the Role

The ideal candidate for this position will be a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with excellent typing skills and a strong understanding of computer applications, particularly word processing tools and spreadsheets. As a Data Entry Clerk at arenaflex, you will be responsible for transferring data from paper formats into our database systems, creating spreadsheets, verifying data, and performing regular backups to ensure data preservation. You will report to a senior data team member or data manager and work collaboratively with other team members to achieve our goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transfer data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders, or optical scanners
  • Type in data provided directly from customers with high accuracy and speed
  • Create spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without mistakes, utilizing MS Office Excel and other spreadsheet software
  • Verify data by comparing it to source documents to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Update existing data and maintain the integrity of our database
  • Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested by authorized personnel
  • Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation and security
  • Sort and organize paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost and maintain a clean and organized workspace

Requirements and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Fast typing skills, with a strong preference for knowledge of the touch typing system
  • Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets, including MS Office Word and Excel
  • Working knowledge of office equipment, computer hardware, and peripheral devices
  • Basic understanding of databases and data management principles
  • Good command of English, both oral and written, with excellent customer service skills
  • Great attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
