Payroll Accountant

MEK Group LLC is a large but growing company with headquarters in Pittsburgh, seeking a Payroll Accountant to join their expanding team. The role involves preparing and processing payroll, ensuring accurate entries, and collaborating with various company divisions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process payroll for salary, weekly and biweekly employees
• Determine and correct out-of-balance conditions to ensure accurate payroll entries
• Process Multi-State, Union, Hourly and Salary payroll utilizing ADP software
• Communication with company offices and divisions to ensure accurate accounting and reporting of payroll
• Input time, material and expenses into appropriate software system
• Process bank transactions, Paycard funding and direct deposit reversals
• Proactively research and resolve issues that arrive by reviewing time-cards, communicating with employees and following up with specific offices
• Analyze and reconcile payroll reports and work with accounting department to resolve out-of-balance reconciliations

Skills

• 1 - 5 years experience processing payroll for hourly employees
• Experience with processing multi-state payroll
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
• Demonstrated problem solving ability
• Strong Excel skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills dealing with internal and external customers
• ADP or Kronos experience highly desirable
