IntePros is working with a leading health care client to identify a Metadata & Reporting Liaison to serve as a key liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders. This role focuses on ensuring complex metadata, governance, and reporting concepts are translated into clear, actionable documentation, while improving metadata completeness and advancing data governance initiatives across core enterprise data domains.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and simplify technical concepts related to data assets, data lineage, and reporting logic for inclusion in the enterprise data catalog
  • Partner with technical teams to gather detailed information about data sources, transformations, and quality checks, including: Translating technical data rules into clear, accessible language for business and operational users
  • Consolidating and summarizing data rules for core domains (e.g., patient, provider) to enable easy discovery and understanding
  • Defining documentation standards and processes required to certify enterprise data
  • Create clear, user-friendly descriptions that explain complex data processes in business-oriented terms
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and completeness of metadata, definitions, and documentation across the data catalog
  • Support governance and compliance initiatives by maintaining transparency and traceability in data documentation
  • Identify gaps in existing documentation and collaborate with stakeholders to remediate them
  • Partner with Data Engineering and Data Analytics teams to document core and semantic tables currently in production
  • Collaborate with Data Analytics teams to identify, define, and document enterprise metrics, including creating a framework to link related or similar metrics
  • Support the remediation or retirement of metrics that lack defined ownership
  • Work with Research and Privacy stakeholders to document and outline guidelines for handling PHI and PII when sharing data externally
  • Create and maintain data policies for restricted data to ensure compliance with enterprise standards and guidelines
  • Partner with stakeholders to support and operationalize data retention policies in alignment with enterprise requirements
  • Develop artifacts that make existing data initiatives more accessible and understandable for both technical and business audiences
  • Create relevant data policies and link them to global enterprise policies to ensure consistency and actionability

Skills

  • Strong understanding of data management principles, including data quality, metadata, and reporting concepts
  • Demonstrated ability to translate technical information into clear, concise, and accessible documentation
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams
  • Strong technical and business documentation writing experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Bachelor's degree in clinical informatics, sciences, mathematics, statistics, healthcare management, or a related healthcare discipline
  • 4–6 years of experience in data governance or data management organizations
  • 2–3 years of experience using SQL and/or Python
  • 1–2 years of experience working with data catalog tools
  • Experience working with data catalogs and metadata management tools (e.g., Alation) is a plus
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and reporting tools is a plus
  • Experience with SQL and other programming languages is a plus
  • Experience with data quality tools (e.g., Experian, Collibra) is a plus
  • Healthcare industry experience, including Epic exposure, is a plus
