[Remote] Project Accountant I
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Dudek is a 100% employee-owned firm supporting clients nationwide and delivering projects that improve and protect the built and natural environments. They are seeking a Project Accountant to assist Project Managers with project lifecycle management, contract processing, and ensuring accurate financial reporting and billing.
Responsibilities
- Be a resource and assist Project Managers in maintaining the life cycle of the project from the notice of award to the final closeout
- Set up projects, extra work orders, transfers, or other amendments according to contract terms in Deltek Vantagepoint
- Assist with the creation and processing contracts
- Review contracts for accounting specific requirements and ensure timely completion of all specialized client billing needs
- Review project labor and expenses to ensure accurate posting to projects
- Follow through on all billing related issues to resolution
- Work closely with Project Managers and Directors to ensure accurate and consistent financial reporting and project billing
- Invoice clients monthly
- Respond to client, vendor, or staff inquiries in a timely fashion
- Prepare accounts receivable statements and follow up on past due invoices
- Handle project audits as they arise
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 1–2 years of relevant experience, or 3–4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Well organized, detail-oriented, and excellent follow through
- Ability to think critically and problem solve
- Highly motivated to progress to the next level
- Ability to work independently and take initiative when needed
- Excellent customer service skills: ability to effectively engage and communicate with different personality types
- Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have active personal automobile liability insurance by first day of employment
- Deltek Vantagepoint experience a plus
- Ability to work overtime as needed
