Network Deploy Technician, ID Deploy Optical Team
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. They are seeking a Network Deploy Technician to assist in the stability and sustainability of their next-generation networks while collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure project execution.
Responsibilities
- Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects
- Collaboration with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles
- Troubleshoot networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including troubleshooting of network device configuration and low level application interaction
- Up to 30% travel within geographical work area is required. Some travel outside traditional work area may be requested, including internationally
- Troubleshooting cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords
- Specifying Power and Cooling requirements and ensuring Hardware Racking/Stacking completed for new equipment
- Participate in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware
- Moving and lifting computer equipment up to 40 lbs
- Availability to work in an environment that operates 24/7
Skills
- High school or equivalent diploma
- 1+ years of relevant work in a data center or other critical environment experience
- Experience with network hardware: copper and optical fiber cabling, switches, routers
- Data center experience Industry standard certifications (CompTIA, CCENT, Network+)
- Knowledge of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment
- Experience with common tools related to network troubleshooting, including VFLs, OTDR and power meters
- Understanding of infrastructure technologies, including Routers, Switches, Load Balancers and Firewalls
- Knowledge of major Command Line Protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS, GNU/Linux) and common Networking Protocols (BGP, OSPF)
