We are currently looking for a patent attorney, patent agent, or patent agent trainee with a strong technical background in engineering. Opportunity to work fully remotely as a patent attorney from anywhere in the USA. Within this practice there is an abundance of high-quality work from sophisticated clients, yet you will not be expected to do ridiculous hours. More specifically, you have input regarding your target billable hours. This group is more interested in keeping quality talent and providing high-quality work to clients. There is an abundance of challenging and sophisticated work here, thus you will be exposed to a diverse array of computer science, software, and computer engineering related technologies. In particular, there is a strong need for someone with an in depth understanding of complex artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) modeling systems. The AI/ML applications span a wide variety of industrial and commercial areas (e.g., cloud computing, neural networks, robotics, kinematics, telecommunications, medical devices and surgical systems, automated manufacturing and machine design systems, semiconductors, control systems, finance, cybersecurity, natural language processing (NLP), autonomous vehicles, transportation, etc.). The focus of the work will primarily relate to the preparation and prosecution of patents for domestic and foreign clients while also supporting practice needs in other related areas (e.g., patentability, infringement, and freedom to operate opinions; portfolio strategy and management; due diligence; Patent Trial and Appeal Board issues). Patent Attorney Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related
- Solid understanding of either (a) complex AI/ML, OR (b) physics, robotics, kinematics and classical mechanics
- Must have at least 1 year of full-time claim drafting and prosecutions experience
- Demonstrated ablity to produce high-quality patents relating to complex technologies
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction
- USPTO Patent Attorney
Patent Agent Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related
- Solid understanding of either (a) complex AI/ML, OR (b) physics, robotics, kinematics and classical mechanics
- Must have at least 1 year of full-time claim drafting and prosecutions experience
- Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality patents relating to complex related technologies
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction
- USPTO Patent Agent
Patent Agent Trainee Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related
- Solid understanding of either (a) complex AI/ML, OR (b) physics, robotics, kinematics and classical mechanics
- At least 2 years of engineering and/or R&D experience
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction
- Willingness to prepare for the USPTO exam with a desire to become a Patent Agent
