Harbor is seeking a Director to join our dynamic Legal Technology & Operations – Applications Management Services team, and to be the Site Lead and Regional Head for a to-be-established new team and office in the metro Manila area. Our team is at the forefront of delivery of a quality service for our clients who have managed service agreements. We have both extensive experience in legal processes and technology across several platforms. This mainly focusses on Intapp, Elite 3E and iManage products but also includes others where integration is essential, e.g. practice management systems, document management systems and external data providers. We serve both as advisors and as experienced, hands-on resources, collaborating with our clients to contain risk and cost through operational improvement, efficient data management, and technology usage. As the Regional Head, you will lead Harbor’s expansion into the Philippines, working with our Enterprise Operations teams in the US and UK to establish a new office, build a new team and lay the foundation for a hub in Asia for all facets of Harbor’s Delivery and Enterprise Operations functions. This is a position that will be hybrid working both remotely and in an office in the Manila area. Job Duties and Responsibilities: The role is split into 2 main areas of responsibility:

  • Regional Head
  • Work with Harbor’s general counsel and finance teams to establish a legal entity and comply with all the statutory, regulatory and tax requirements in the region
  • Collaborate with Harbor’s talent team to recruit team; establish local benefits, policies and procedures; and create a culture aligned with Harbor’s values that establishes Harbor as a destination employer in the Philippines.
  • Collaborate with Harbor’s technology team, working with local suppliers as necessary, to ensure local technology needs are met
  • Director, Applications Management
  • Serve as front-line manager to initial team, collaborating closely with peer Directors in the relevant technology domains to ensure:
  • Resource coverage and Workforce Management
  • Employee retention and engagement
  • Career development opportunities exist locally
  • Client escalations as required

Experience, Education and Qualifications: General skills:

  • Degree in Finance, Business, Human Resources, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Science, Economics, Statistics, Accounting or Data & Analytics.
  • Experience establishing local office for global company
  • Self-motivated, strong initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Strong observational, analytical and numerical reasoning skills.
  • Effective communication and storytelling skills (written and spoken).
  • Excels in a cooperative team environment.
  • Positive, enthusiastic attitude and entrepreneurial spirit

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced computer skills (primarily Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio); familiarity with use of Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint as collaboration tools.
  • Accounting and/or tax skills an advantage
  • Employee benefits and/or policies experience an advantage
  • Proficiency in SQL is an advantage.
