About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Full Stack Data Engineer to join our team in Beaverton, OR. As a Data Engineer at blithequark, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing data products and features in collaboration with product owners, data analysts, and business partners. You'll contribute to the overall architecture, frameworks, and standards for processing and evaluating big data, and work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality solutions are implemented and technical best practices are defined and followed.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design and implement data products and features in collaboration with product owners, data analysts, and business partners

• Contribute to the overall architecture, frameworks, and standards for processing and evaluating big data
• Evaluate new technologies, tools, and frameworks aimed at processing large volumes of data
• Translate product backlog items into logical units of engineering work
• Implement distributed data processing pipelines using tools and languages prevalent in the big data ecosystem
• Build tools, user-defined functions, libraries, and frameworks to better enable data flow patterns
• Collaborate with engineering leads and other teams to ensure quality solutions are implemented and technical best practices are defined and followed
• Create and participate in automated unit tests and participate in integration tests
• Use and extend continuous integration and deployment frameworks
• Troubleshoot data issues and perform root cause analysis
• Work in teams to resolve operational and performance issues

Requirements:

* Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Computer Information Systems

• 2 years of experience in the offered position or a computer-related position
• Strong understanding of big data technologies, including Spark, Hive, Python, AWS, Apache Airflow, EMR, Data Bricks, Data Structures, Algorithms, Automated Unit Testing, CI/CD, and Hadoop
• Experience with distributed data processing pipelines and big data ecosystems
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex data issues
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Strong understanding of software development principles, including Agile methodologies and continuous integration and deployment

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with cloud-based data platforms, including AWS and Azure

• Knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence tools, including Tableau and Power BI
• Experience with data governance and data quality frameworks
• Strong understanding of data security and compliance regulations, including GDPR and HIPAA
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools, including Jenkins and Docker
