Job Summary
As an Enterprise Data Storage Administrator at blithequark, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our enterprise data storage infrastructure. This includes overseeing the management of our NAS, SAN, and DAS systems, as well as ensuring the security and integrity of our data. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and implement best practices and solutions that meet the evolving needs of our business.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and implement enterprise data storage solutions that meet the needs of our business
- Manage and maintain our NAS, SAN, and DAS systems, ensuring optimal performance and security
- Collaborate with application, database, server, and other technology teams to ensure seamless integration and data flow
- Develop and maintain clear and concise documentation for daily and ad-hoc tasks
- Provide technical support and guidance on complex tasks such as installation, configuration, and backup/restore activities for all systems
- Perform code updates and security patches to maintain the health and security of our storage systems
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, and apply this knowledge to improve our data storage infrastructure
Requirements
* 3 years of experience in data storage or a related field, with a focus on networking and storage protocols
- Industry knowledge and experience in large-scale SAN design and implementation
- Proven expertise in enterprise storage management, with a strong understanding of DellEMC, Cisco, and similar OEMs
- Strong knowledge of current and emerging data security technologies
- Experience with NAS concepts and protocols (CIFS, NFS, and S3)
- Knowledge of data synchronization technologies for both SAN and NAS
- Operating system platform expertise (both Linux and Windows)
- VMWare knowledge and experience
- Proficient in providing clear and well-organized documentation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (a combination of education, work experience, and training may be considered)
Preferred Qualifications
* Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Certification in data storage or a related field (e.g. CompTIA Storage+)
- Experience with cloud-based storage solutions (e.g. AWS, Azure)
- Strong knowledge of data analytics and business intelligence tools
- Experience with IT service management frameworks (e.g. ITIL)
