The Data Engineering Team
Our Data Engineering team is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the data pipelines that power our media business. We work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy data-driven solutions that drive business value and inform strategic decision-making. As a Data Engineer on our team, you'll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from data warehousing and ETL/ELT pipeline development to data visualization and machine learning.
Key Responsibilities
As a Data Engineer at blithequark, you'll be responsible for:
- Designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines that support our media business
- Developing and deploying data-driven solutions that drive business value and inform strategic decision-making
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy data-driven solutions
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues with data pipelines and data-driven solutions
- Staying up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and cloud computing
- Participating in code reviews and contributing to the development of best practices and standards for data engineering
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in ELT/ETL pipeline development and support
- Proficiency in Python and SQL (ideally with Snowflake)
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar
- Strong understanding of data modeling and data warehousing concepts
- Experience with containerization using Docker
- Experience with source control systems, such as GitLab or GitHub
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications would be a plus:
- Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies
- Proficiency in cloud design and product offerings, ideally AWS
- Experience overseeing and deploying code using a source control system like GitLab or GitHub
- Experience using cloud-based data platforms, such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar
