Job Responsibilities

As an Experienced Leasing Consultant, you will be responsible for creating leads, selling, and leasing apartments to prospective tenants. You will work closely with our local area supervisor, renting administrator, and associate director to ensure that our organization's guidelines are met and excellent customer service is provided. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing effective sales strategies to drive leasing activity
  • Building and maintaining relationships with current and prospective tenants
  • Conducting site tours, answering questions, and addressing concerns
  • Processing rental applications, preparing lease agreements, and ensuring compliance with fair housing laws
  • Maintaining accurate records, reports, and databases
  • Collaborating with the marketing team to develop and implement marketing campaigns
  • Analyzing market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to inform leasing strategies
  • Participating in training programs, workshops, and conferences to enhance skills and knowledge
  • Adhering to company policies, procedures, and best practices

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (a bachelor's degree is preferred)
  • Previous experience in leasing, sales, or customer service (no experience is not a barrier to entry)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word and Excel
  • Familiarity with Yardi Explorer, YieldStar, or other income management programs (an asset)
  • A valid driver's license (may be required)
  • A professional appearance and demeanor
  • A positive, proactive, and team-oriented attitude

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications would be beneficial:

  • Experience with Yardi Explorer, YieldStar, or other income management programs
  • Knowledge of local market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments
  • Familiarity with online marketing platforms, social media, and digital advertising
  • Certification in leasing, sales, or customer service (e.g., Certified Leasing Professional, Certified Sales Professional)
