Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you will need to have:

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education
• A valid Alaska teaching certificate, or the ability to obtain one upon hire
• Successful experience with primary differentiated instructional strategies in reading, writing, and mathematics
• Strong knowledge of Early Childhood best practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

• A Master's degree in Education
• Attendance at the Literacy Institute and/or further training in the teaching of reading
• Successful preschool or primary teaching experience
• Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheets, and database software
