Key Responsibilities

As a Part-Time Data Entry Clerk, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of our company's databases by entering new and updated customer and account information
  • Preparing source data for computer entry by compiling and sorting information
  • Establishing entry priorities and processing customer and account source documents
  • Reviewing data for deficiencies and resolving them using standard procedures
  • Entering customer and account data by inputting information on keyboard or optical scanner
  • Verifying entered customer and account data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or reentering data
  • Combining data from both systems when account information is incomplete
  • Purging files to eliminate duplication of data
  • Testing customer and account system changes and upgrades by inputting new data
  • Securing information by completing database backups

Essential Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Data entry experience or related office experience (preferred)
  • Basic computer courses (may be preferred by some employers)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proficient in data entry and database management
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with computer systems and software applications

Preferred Qualifications
