Job Summary

We are looking for a highly qualified Part-Time Professional Tutor to provide individual and small group tutoring sessions in various subjects, including English, Sociology, Psychology, Upper-level Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, and Sciences. As a member of our team, you will be expected to maintain ongoing communications with the Coordinator of the Gruskin Learning Center, provide workshops related to your tutoring content area, and assist with maintaining our database.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and small group tutoring sessions in designated subjects
• Maintain ongoing communications with the Coordinator of the Gruskin Learning Center
• Develop and deliver workshops related to your tutoring content area
• Assist with maintaining the Gruskin Learning Center database
• Create workshops to help students succeed in their studies
• Maintain accurate records of student tutoring sessions
• Make classroom visits to assigned courses each semester
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• A Bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline from an accredited institution
• A Master's degree in the relevant discipline is preferred
• Prior tutoring or teaching experience is strongly preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work flexibly with varying schedules
• Strong academic background in the designated subjects

Clearances and Background Checks

Employment with the University will require successful completion of the following clearances and background checks:

• PA Child Abuse History Clearance
• PA State Police Criminal Record Check
• FBI Criminal History Background Check
