Job Overview

As a Customer Service Representative - Specialty Pharmacy Administration at blithequark, you'll play a vital role in ensuring that patients receive the life-supporting specialty drug treatments they need. You'll work closely with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and internal teams to coordinate and process new patient drug requests and reorders, while providing empathetic and genuine care to those who need it most.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and handle new patient drug requests and reorders, including verifying and updating benefits, interpreting and entering prescriptions into our pharmacy data system, and collecting copay amounts.
  • Collaborate with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and internal teams to monitor, identify, resolve, and approve orders with potential issues or concerns.
  • Provide exceptional customer service via phone, ensuring timely and accurate resolution of patient and client inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate records and update systems to reflect changes in patient information, insurance coverage, and prescription status.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple demands to meet productivity and quality standards.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Active IL Pharmacy Specialist Permit or willingness to apply for an IL Pharmacy Specialist Permit.
  • At least one year of experience in a customer care role, handling and resolving complex client needs via telephone.
  • Proficiency in Windows-based applications, including Microsoft Office, web navigation, and email applications.
  • Strong computer keyboarding skills, with a minimum of one year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications can enhance your candidacy:

  • Healthcare work experience and knowledge of benefits, insurance, prescriptions, and medical terminology.
  • Familiarity with specialty pharmacy operations and patient support services.
