Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement curricula to meet the Delaware Arts Standards in Music, ensuring that all students have access to a high-quality music education.
• Plan and deliver daily academic, differentiated lessons that teach students the fundamental principles of music and musicianship skills, such as music theory and basic notation.
• Deliver music content in the target language (Spanish), promoting bilingualism and cultural awareness among our students.
• Be accountable for students' academic growth and achievement, using data to inform instruction and drive student success.
• Design and implement summative assessments to measure progress towards academic standards and formative assessments to drive instruction.
• Collaborate with other teachers to plan student performances throughout the year, showcasing our students' talents and achievements.

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Music Education, with a strong background in music theory, musicianship, and basic piano skills.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English, with the ability to deliver music content in the target language.
• Successful completion of Praxis I and II exams (unless holding an initial teaching license from the State of Delaware).
• Must play at least one instrument with a high level of proficiency, demonstrating a passion for music and a commitment to excellence.
• Possess strong instructional skills and classroom management, with the ability to work well with, and relate to, children of all ages (K-5).
• Ability to reflect upon teaching practices and respond to constructive feedback, demonstrating a growth mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement.
