Job Summary

The Teacher Assistant at Mott Middle College will work under the direction of classroom teachers to assist students during the learning process. Key Responsibilities

• Supporting Student Learning: Provide individual and small group tutoring on a variety of subjects as directed by the classroom teacher.

• Field Trips and Community-Based Learning: Assist with creating and attending field trips and community-based learning assignments that enhance student learning experiences.
• Classroom Setup and Maintenance: Assist with logistical aspects of classroom setup and maintenance, ensuring a conducive learning environment.
• Assessment and Evaluation: Proctor examinations and standardized tests, ensuring the integrity and fairness of the assessment process.
• Communication and Collaboration: Communicate classroom needs with the main office and counseling office, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Monitoring Student Progress: Monitor students' academic needs in the classroom and discuss these needs with the classroom teacher, promoting student success.
• Clerical Tasks and Lesson Preparation: Assist with clerical tasks, lesson preparation, and classroom setup, as needed.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• Education: A High School Diploma is required, with required college course enrollment. An Associate's degree or higher is preferred.
• Experience: One or more years of work experience with adolescents is preferred, with relevant work experience in the content area being an asset.
• Skills and Competencies: Demonstrated honesty, integrity, and professionalism at all times. Ability to utilize district technology and maintain proficiency as required. Exhibits self-control, mature judgment, congeniality, and ethical standards in all working relationships.
• Physical and Mental Demands: Demonstrated mental/physical ability and stamina for meeting the essential duties of the position. Punctuality and good attendance are requirements for the position.
