As an Associate Director, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Chief in live Studio, Remote, and REMI productions, ensuring seamless execution and timely delivery of high-quality content.
About the Role
The Associate Director position is a full-time, remote opportunity that requires a Bachelor's degree and a passion for television production. As a key member of the production team, you will be responsible for assisting the Chief in various aspects of content creation, including live shots, promotions, and studio productions. This role demands strong leadership characteristics, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Chief during productions by timing components, keying text styles, and organizing takes care of.
- Maintain communication with live shots by providing warnings and cues, ensuring proper framing, sound, and video levels meet live guidelines.
- Help with routing, papping, framing, and clearing remote guests during Light/Mechanized creations.
- Assist in the communication of traffic changes, graphics requests, music cues, and source changes with media.
- Collaborate with the Chief and Production staff to request pictures and screen graphics to support storylines throughout the show.
- Confirm locations of guests (remote and studio) with Sound and Transmission/VCC by providing administrative work.
- Work with the assigned lead Chiefs on special graphics components and animations for niche shows.
- Participate in meetings with Production to aid in the development of visual content for the show.
- Assist the Chief, Maker, and Planning Maker with PCR arrangement, including comms and monitoring form.
- On REMI creations, help the Maker and Chief in managing game-related liabilities and traffic.
- Develop cards with special, sales, and article copy for talent to read on air.
- Run the pre-production meeting and assume ownership of self-improvement through independent observation and training.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A thorough understanding of TV production.
- Clear, succinct, and comprehensive verbal communication skills.
- The ability to think rapidly in a tension situation.
- Diligence, conscientiousness, enthusiasm for production, interest in technical areas, and a consistent presentation of innovative suggestions.
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
Preferred Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- At least three years of production experience or equivalent.
- Coordinating experience.
- Bilingual language abilities (Spanish/English).
