Job Summary
As a Senior Analytics Engineer at Walgreens, you will play a critical role in delivering data-driven insights and solutions that drive business outcomes. You will work closely with data scientists, business analysts, and stakeholders to design, develop, and deploy data pipelines, databases, and analytics tools that support our healthcare quality improvement programs. Your expertise in data engineering, analytics, and data visualization will help us unlock the full potential of our data and drive informed decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain large-scale data pipelines and databases that support reporting and analytics projects
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven insights and solutions that drive business outcomes
- Develop and implement data quality and data governance standards to ensure data accuracy and integrity
- Apply data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) best practices to integrate large datasets from various sources
- Perform data profiling and analysis to identify data quality issues and opportunities for improvement
- Develop and maintain internal tools for automation of data processing, QA, and data validation
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior team members and stakeholders
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- At least 2 years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or a related field
- Hands-on experience writing and tuning SQL-based ETL/ELT scripts
- Experience designing and deploying scalable data architectures using ETL/ELT services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Snowflake)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with technical teams, stakeholders, and clients
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, Looker)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) or similar certification
- Knowledge of pharmacy, healthcare, and clinical research concepts
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP)
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or Scala
