About the Role: Part-Time Math Tutor for San Diego Centers

We're seeking a bright, passionate, and dedicated Math Tutor to join our team at our San Diego County locations (Mira Mesa & Chula Vista). As a Math Tutor at Mathnasium, you'll play a crucial role in creating an engaging and productive learning experience for students, helping them master math concepts, and developing a lifelong love of mathematics. This part-time role offers a unique career path focused on community service, student development, and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional instruction and tutoring services to students using the Mathnasium Method, terminology, and teaching practices.
• Engage in positive interactions with parents, establishing a high level of confidence and program value.
• Become proficient in digital educational materials and processes, leveraging technology to enhance student learning.
• Teach in-center, online, and/or via hybrid delivery, adapting to different instructional settings and student needs.
• Assess student progress throughout instructional sessions, collaborating with team members to deliver the best possible experience.
• Evaluate, grade, and correct student work and homework, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
• Support the maintenance of a clean and professional learning environment, ensuring a conducive space for students to thrive.
• Assist with non-teaching/instructional tasks as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to contribute to the team's success.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To succeed as a Math Tutor at Mathnasium, you'll need:

• A passion for math and working with students, with a strong desire to make a positive impact.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and team members.
• Exceptional math competency through at least Algebra I, with a strong foundation in mathematical concepts and principles.
• The ability to balance various ongoing tasks, prioritizing responsibilities and managing time effectively.
• A willingness to learn and be trained in the Mathnasium Method, embracing our unique approach to math education.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications can enhance your application:

• Previous experience in teaching or tutoring, particularly in math or a related subject.
• A degree in mathematics, education, or a related field.
• Familiarity with digital educational tools and platforms.
