We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Business Data Scientist to join our Impact Measurement team at YouTube, a subsidiary of Google. About the Impact Measurement Team

The Impact Measurement team is responsible for shaping go-to-market priorities to drive growth and support the business, improving capabilities and competencies to support execution of business priorities, driving performance across business operations, and building great go-to-market infrastructure (e.g., data, reports, dashboards). As a Business Data Scientist, you will be tasked with supporting YouTube to make better decisions by translating unclear questions into business questions, designing research to answer those questions, and communicating findings to non-technical audiences while being clear about uncertainty and the assumptions used in your evaluation.

Responsibilities

* Design and lead informal research with a clear goal of answering business questions * Present and communicate actionable insights and recommendations to executives, business leaders, and cross-functional partners * Serve as a peer-reviewer and representative for causal research designed by other teams * Stay updated with advances in the causal inference literature and develop new techniques when appropriate

Key Qualifications

* Master's diploma in Computer Science, Mathematics, Applied Data, Machine Learning, or equivalent relevant experience * Experience with articulating business and product questions, and pulling data from datasets using SQL and statistical tools (e.g., R, SAS, Stata, MATLAB, etc.) * Internship or experience with data evaluation * Experience with Bayesian hierarchical models, Bayesian Additive Regression Trees (BART), Bayesian Causal Forest (BCF), Gaussian Processes, and Synthetic Control techniques * Experience designing and studying randomized controlled trials * Experience designing and studying causal research using observational data * Experience with statistical data analysis including linear models, multivariate analysis, stochastic models, and sampling techniques

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with machine learning algorithms and deep learning techniques * Experience with data visualization tools and techniques * Experience with cloud-based data platforms and big data technologies * Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems * Experience with collaboration tools and project management software

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

The US base salary range for this full-time role is $124,000-$182,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by position, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by the work area and other factors, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant training or education.
