Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Online Part-Time Faculty - Spanish Language and Culture Instructor to join our team at APUS. As a faculty member, you will play a crucial role in creating a rewarding online learning experience for students by engaging them, challenging them, and supporting them. You will be responsible for teaching excellence, delivering online lessons, and evaluating student work. Key Responsibilities

• Teaching Excellence: Deliver online lessons to undergraduate and/or graduate students, ensuring that they meet the learning objectives and outcomes of the course.
• Online Classroom Engagement: Initiate, facilitate, interact, and moderate online classroom forums, creating a collaborative and inclusive learning environment.
• Evaluation and Feedback: Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments, and papers within the timeframe set forth by APUS policy, providing effective feedback to guide student learning and success.
• Professional Development: Participate in professional development to enhance teaching skills and effective online learning strategies, staying up-to-date with best practices in online education.
• Discipline Knowledge: Maintain discipline knowledge by participating in one's own discipline-related professional communities, staying current with developments in Spanish language and culture.
• Support and Collaboration: Support APUS initiatives and departments, collaborating with colleagues to achieve shared goals and objectives.

Essential Qualifications

• Master's Degree: A Master's degree in Spanish or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution is required. A Master's degree with at least eighteen graduate credit hours in Spanish may be considered.
• Teaching Experience: College-level teaching experience is preferred, with a record of excellence in teaching.
• Online Teaching Experience: Online teaching experience is preferred, with a strong understanding of online learning platforms and pedagogy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Ed.D.: A Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Spanish or a closely related field is preferred.
• Language Proficiency: Proficiency in Spanish language and culture, with the ability to communicate effectively with students and colleagues.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with online learning platforms, such as Canvas or Blackboard, and a strong understanding of digital pedagogy.
