The Huntington National Bank is urgently hiring an experienced Application Architect (Google Cloud) to lead and drive cloud-native application development using Google Cloud technologies. This is a strategic, fully remote role for professionals who thrive in designing scalable, secure, and efficient enterprise solutions.

Job Description:

As an Application Architect, you’ll play a critical leadership role within our engineering teams, focusing on the design, architecture, and deployment of cloud applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You’ll align cloud architecture strategies with business goals, establish best practices, and provide technical guidance to developers and stakeholders. Your expertise will be instrumental in transforming our digital banking capabilities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

• 5+ years of application architecture experience, with a strong focus on cloud-native design.

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform.

• Proficiency with microservices, APIs, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD.

• Solid understanding of security, compliance, and performance optimization in cloud environments.

• Experience integrating third-party services and APIs.

• Strong collaboration and leadership skills.

• GCP certifications (Professional Cloud Architect or similar) are a strong plus.

Responsibilities:

• Architect cloud-native applications leveraging GCP services.

• Design scalable, fault-tolerant, and secure architectures.

• Guide development teams through implementation and troubleshooting.

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including DevOps, Security, and Product teams.

• Define cloud adoption strategies and reference architectures.

• Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.

• Stay updated on industry trends and evolving technologies to drive innovation.
