About the Role: Senior Data Engineer (L5) - Games

We're looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our Games Data Science and Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you'll play a crucial role in supporting end-to-end analytics and data needs for our Games space. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex data sets, develop software and data solutions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and improve our members' experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of complex data sets and increase automation and scale to drive use cases for our analytical partners, including games impression data and game platform data.
  • Design and build robust data pipelines using Spark, Flink, Python, and Scala to output high-quality data at scale.
  • Collaborate with our logging infrastructure team to develop and maintain key schemas for use by all games.
  • Partner with game stakeholders to develop software and data solutions that enable analysis across our entire library of games.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and analytics, to drive business growth and improve our members' experience.

Who You Are

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • 7+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on building systems that collect or process data for use in analytics products.
  • A strong background in data engineering, with experience building production data pipelines using Spark, Flink, or Hive/Hadoop.
  • Hands-on experience with schema design and data modeling, as well as programming proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to share context and work effectively with analytical partners, domain experts, and other stakeholders.
  • A software engineering mindset, with a focus on writing elegant, maintainable code and a willingness to take action and learn from mistakes.

Essential Qualifications

In addition to the above requirements, you should also have:

  • A strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
  • Experience working with large datasets and distributed computing systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug and optimize complex data pipelines.
  • A strong passion for data-driven solutions and a desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Experience working in the gaming or entertainment industry.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based technologies, such as AWS or GCP.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems, such as Git.
  • A strong understanding of data governance and data quality principles.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $170,000 - $720,000, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to our salary, we also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:
