Facility Technician

As a Facility Technician, you will be essential in ensuring USPS facilities operate smoothly and remain compliant with safety and operational standards. Role and Responsibilities: As a Facility Technician, you will help maintain and repair systems that keep USPS facilities operational and secure. You will work independently and as part of a team to carry out both routine and emergency maintenance tasks with precision.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
- Inspect facility infrastructure for safety, efficiency, and code compliance
- Respond to work orders and resolve technical issues promptly
- Operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently to complete repairs
- Document work performed and maintain accurate maintenance records
- Support facility upgrades, equipment installations, and energy efficiency initiatives
- Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and other USPS personnel as needed
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency in building systems maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of safety standards and OSHA regulations
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Experience using diagnostic tools and maintenance software
- Good communication and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in HVAC, electrical, or building maintenance trades
- Experience working in a large-scale facility environment
- Familiarity with USPS operations or similar logistics environments
